One of the best tourist destinations in Indonesia is the island of Bali. With its many temples, beaches, islands, and biodiverse forests and dive sites, it is no surprise why most tourists flock to Bali each year. Not to mention the different culture that you will experience in the Hindu province of Bali in a predominantly Muslim nation of Indonesia.
Bali is rich in places to go to for photo ops. There’s the Uluwatu Temple that is situated on a stiff cliff off the island of Bali facing the Indian Ocean. You can get right to the edge of the Balinese cliff side to take pictures of the water 70 meters below. Another temple in Bali that you can also go to is the Pura Tirta Empul located in the Tampaksiring Village. It was built on top of a large spring that is called Tirta Empul or “Holy Spring”. The local Hindu Balinese – and tourists too, if you wish – go to this temple for the famed holy water where they bathe for purification. One other temple you can go to in the island of Bali is the Tanah Lot or the “land in the sea”. This breathtaking temple sits on an offshore rock and is best photographed during sunrise/sunset and during high tide when the waves crash along its sides.
Besides the many temples that you will visit in Bali, you will also get to experience the Balinese culture with trips to gold and silversmiths in the Celuk Village and admire the wood carvings in the Mas Carving Center. And what is a trip to Bali Indonesia without the mandatory pasalubong hunt. You’d all stop at Ubud and the Sukawati Art Market where you can buy cheap souvenirs from Bali.
Check out the local beaches during your free time in Bali, Indonesia. You could try to learn how to surf while you’re there.
